The Florida Project

Oscar-nominated The Florida Project follows precocious six-year-old Moonee as she courts mischief and adventure with her ragtag playmates and bonds with her rebellious but caring mother, all while living in the shadows of Walt Disney World.  Audiences and critics from Cannes and Toronto have raved about the film, which was picked up by A24.

The Florida Project was primarily shot in 2.40:1 anamorphic on 35mm film with the Disney World ending captured on an iPhone 6s for "obvious logistical purposes" and also specifically for the mobile device's inherent look. The iPhone's rolling shutter gave the scene what Baker describes as a "hyperactivity and a very different, jarring feel, and we liked that....we actually wanted the audience to know that we were jumping from 35mm to another medium."
